ART AND DESIGN DEPARTMENT

Twenty S1 pupils really enjoyed a special illustration talk and workshop on the theme of ‘How to draw a Dragon’ with Scottish illustrator and artist Kate Leiper on the 29th October. Kate showed the pupils lots of examples of her published work and gave them tips for illustrating children’s book characters. Pupils spent time creating their own dragon character and said that they found the event fun, interesting and inspirational. This event was part-sponsored by the Scottish Book Trust with their live literature funding. Check out the event on twitter @GHSArtdept

Primary 7 Open Evening 24th October

An Open Evening for pupils currently in P7 (and their families) will be held in Greenfaulds High School at 7.00pm on the evening of Thursday 24th October 2019.

This is an informal event and there is no need to inform the school in advance that you are coming. Pupils and their parents will “follow a timetable” which will allow you to see around the school and
meet teachers and pupils in different departments. You will find out about the curriculum and about the many other activities on offer to pupils.

Car parking will be available but the school is likely to be very busy on the evening so you are advised to come early. I look forward to seeing you on the 24th October but please do not hesitate to contact me in advance if you have specific queries or requirements.
