INFORMATION EVENING

Parents of P7 pupils are invited to an Open Evening for P7 Pupils and Parents on Tuesday 13 Nov at 7pm for a ‘walk round’ of the school where they will ‘follow a timetable’. All prospective parents and pupils for next year’s First Year are invited to attend on that evening.

A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM

Greenfaulds High presents A Midsummer Nights Dream by William Shakespeare on November 7th at the Platform Theatre – Easterhouse. Come along and see this extremely talented cast and crew for a wonderful night of theatre! The cast and production team have been working so hard giving up so much time to work on this. See Mr Gillespie or anyone involved to sort out your tickets!!

HISTORY DEPARTMENT

To mark the centenary of the end of the First World War, the history department will be screening Peter Jackson’s new film ‘They Shall Not Grow Old’ on Thursday 8th November at 7.00 pm in the assembly hall.  We would like to invite you and other family members to come watch the film along with the pupils of Greenfaulds.  Tickets are available from Miss Gilchrist at break in F030.  Although there is no charge for the ticket a donation to Poppy Scotland would be welcome.

SCOTTISH SCHOOLS CLIMBING COMPETITION

On Friday the 12th October, Greenfaulds High School entered a team into the National Scottish Schools Climbing Competition. We had a mixed team, some experiences climbers, some new to the sport. All pupils climbed extremely well and we were very proud of them. We will find out in due course whether any individuals have made it to the finals.

 ART DEPARTMENT

The art department were involved in the rights respecting schools recently and as part of this pupils looked at the SDp (War and Peace). Some S1, S2 and S3 classes made Poppies and Doves to symbolise ‘Peace’ whilst others look at Picasso’s paintings ‘Weeping Woman’ and ‘Guernica’.
