NATIONAL SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIPS

Greenfaulds High School is pleased to announce that the following students have been selected to represent North Lanarkshire at the Scottish National Swimming Competition which is taking place from the 29th – 31st March.

To reach this stage is a major achievement, well done on their success so far and we await further news of their future successes.

PI MEMORISING COMPETITION

Pupils in S1 took part in the Pi Memorising competition where they had to memorise as many digits as possible of the value of Pi.  A new Greenfauld’s record was achieved with Emily Smith memorsing Pi to a total of 184 decimal places.  In second place was Taylor Brown with 123 decimal places. and in joint third place was Lauren Gardiner and Caitlin Curthoys with 96 decimal places. Great work to all who took part in the competition. Pi-tastic!

MATHS CHALLENGE

On Friday 10th March Greenfaulds High school hosted their annual Primary 7 Maths Challenge.  A huge well done to all who took part. The overall winners of the competition were ‘The Lemon Mathemagicians’ from Baird Memorial Primary (Amy Crombie, Caitlin Crombie, Adam Rush and Robbie Michie) with a total of 83 points.

COMIC RELIEF 2017

On Friday 23rd March, pupils and staff took part in a number of fundraising events around the school to mark Red Nose Day 2017. Along with being a non-uniform day pupils also had the chance to attend “The GH-X Factor show”, Challenge staff v pupils football, netball and volleyball. All proceeds went to Comic Relief.

READATHON

A huge well done and thank you to our S1 who raised a grand total of £500 in their sponsored Readathon. All money raised will go to help sick children in hospitals across the country.
