Review of Day 1

Kilbowie has had good weather and the scenery is beautiful. I slept well and I am now excited to go skiing. The ski slope is outside my room.   I am wrapped up in all my warm clothes.

Dylan McCaskie

I had a good time yesterday.  The bus journey was long but I enjoyed stopping at The Green Welly.  I really enjoyed my dinner, it was Toad in the Hole.

Nathan McAuley

So far I have enjoyed the activities. I enjoyed jumping in the sea and the airport game. I had an ok sleep and I’m looking forward to rock climbing.

Lewis Baird

I’ve been enjoying myself at Kilbowie.  For my first activity we were completing challenges like walking across the rocks in the water. At night I enjoyed the flight game and playing who wants to be a millionaire.

Neve Coughlin

I have enjoyed myself at Kilbowie so far.  For my first activity we were walking along the rocks at the coastal area.  It was really funny as people were pushing each other in.  Then after, we walked into the sea and a walk around the premises.  Then we collected life jackets and jumped off the pier.  I got a shock when James pushed me in.

Yasmin Chau

I have enjoyed myself at Kilbowie.  For my fist activity we were completing a challenge.   Yesterday we had to cross the water and we had to find the safest way to do it.  I used the wall to help me. Then my group and I went a walk up the hills and when we reached the top we got to roll down them.

Kirsty Kane

I had a good time during my first day.  I enjoyed playing in the games room at night.  I’m sharing a room with Stephanie, Taylor and Emma and we all managed to get a good sleep eventually but at first we were a bit excited because it was our first night.

Kirah McFarlane

This morning my group and I went skiing and this afternoon we went climbing.   We went to a beach and learned how to climb up rock faces and also how to abseil down them. I completed all the climbs and I felt proud.

Graham Findlay

My favourite activity today was skiing. When we were learning how to ski we had to start at lower levels of slopes then progress higher.  I managed to ski from the highest point and I felt good as I achieved something I thought I couldn’t do.

Kayla McMillan

Today we went kayaking to some of the other islands around Kilbowie.  On one of the islands we saw highland cows and we jumped off into the sea.   I came back soaking wet!

Mark Rankin

We went kayaking today in the sea and we visited some islands. We went to Kerrera and Heather. I was speeding away ahead and my instructor had to calk me back. I felt kind of powerful in my kayak.

Josh Kennedy

Today my group and I went rock climbing. We had to wear a harness and a helmet.  It was really difficult to climb but eventually we got the hang of it. At the end of it we had to carry out a teamwork challenge to try and get to the top of the hill.

Brodie Young

I really liked the Kayaking today.  I enjoyed going a walk around an island.  I loved the flapjacks that we had during our break.  The scenery was really nice. I felt excited to learn a new skill.

Garv Chand

Today we went skiing and rock climbing. The skiing was really good.  Firstly we had to ski with just one boot then we put both on. Most of us got to ski from the top of the slope and we really enjoyed it.  During rock climbing we started off just walking up with a harness then we eventually worked up to a harder cliff face.

Craig Ross

I really enjoyed it when we went rock climbing.  It was fun when we were abseiling back down.

Class Of 2014- Term 1

Hi and welcome to our blog.  We hope you enjoy reading about what we are learning at school this term.

In P.E we have been doing circuits. We have been focusing on stamina and muscle endurance. Some of the stations we have been doing are tricep dips, sit ups, running, burpies and squats. For our first couple of weeks we were doing games and we also learned some new game ideas to use in the future. Our P.E. lessons have been really good so far and I hope they stay that way! 🙂 By Neve

Our topic that Miss O’Neill introduced is Space. We will have so much knowledge in our heads by the time we are finished. We have learned that there are 8 planets in the solar system as pluto is now a dwarf planet.  By Josh

We are cooking this term.  We are learning about Indian cooking and this week we made a vegetable curry. It was really fun making it but even better tasting it.   For other Indian recipes we are going to be using lots of different spices.  By Brodie

Primary 7 visit to CHS

Today Primary 7 went on their first day of their 2 day visit at CHS. We did lots of different subjects and went with loads of different schools. The first thing we did was we got split into our classes. I was in a class with Jack, Scott and Lewis as well as people from Glenmanor, Auchinloch and Glenboig. After we were split into our classes we went to our first class. My first class was Geography with Ms Hunter. Josh’s first activity was ICT and he thought doing the animation slideshows were fun. In Geography we were learning about symbols and map reading. It was really fun. We were behind schedule so the next subject only lasted 15 minutes

P7 This Week by Grace Sherry, Grace Benson and Abigail

Hello, this is what’s been going on in Primary Seven lately.

On Tuesday we all had to perform a german presentation to the class. The most common thing we were doing wrong was not looking up when we were speaking. I think it was just because we were apprehensive.

We have started planning our leavers assembly, but we can’t tell you anything yet because  it is a surprise, top secret and highly classified information.

In maths we have had a quiz from the High School which was really hard and we were very nervous. We have started doing angles such as; right angles, obtuse angles, acute angles and reflex angles, we can’t wait to find out more as well as this we have been doing data handling.

We have received new books since our last update ,they are called the Thief Lord, Demon Head Master and Santa Maria. We have been using spelling words related to our  substances topic, about smoking, alcohol and drugs misuse.

With our topic of substances we have watched a few videos one we watched on Wednesday and it was a live broadcast so there was interviews of experts which was very interesting and informative.

Lately you can see that Grace Benson and Scott Adamson have been stuck in crutches because of accidents that have happened, we hope that they will be walking about and better soon.

Next week are are going on our final trip which is to  he yellow walk in strathclyde park on wednesday which we are all looking forward to. At the yellow we will be walking 4.5 kilometres which will take us the whole day.

On the 10th and 11th of June we will be going up for our two day visit at the High School, we are all nervous because we don’t know what to expect.
