A huge thank you to Mrs Frances Murphy who has now stepped down from the Parent Council as her wee lass is now a big lass at High School. Â Thank you very much for all your hard work and the commitment you have shown to the children, families and staff of Chapelgreen Primary School and Nursery Class. Â The Parent Council presented Mrs Murphy with a gorgeous bouquet of flowers.
Celebrating Personal and Wider Achievements
Congratulations to our fantastic pupils for their personal achievements, Â such as raising money for Charities. Â Ben Nevis was conquered for Cash4Kids and Bowel Cancer and the Mr Men and Little Miss Walk is still ongoing throughout September for Children with Cancer. Â Some people have improved their swimming while others are improving football skills, getting picked for teams, and moving up the ranks and the league. Â Great to hear that more children have joined clubs in their community, like Cheerleading and Gymnastics. Â Not to mention our musical kids on the block, improving drum skills through some Linkin Park songs, while on the keyboard, being able to play over 100 songs. Â Amazing! Â Delighted to hear that reading is improving with some of our little folk, as well as their culinary skills, making scrambled eggs! Â Yum!
P1 finding out who is behind each door!
P1 and P2 pupils were exploring the school and searching for animals on the doors. Â The P2 pupils modelled good manners by knocking on each door and everyone went in for a visit. Â Here are some photographs to show you who they found. 
P1 & P7 Buddies
We enjoyed our first Assembly today when Primary Seven pupils were introduced to their Primary One Buddies. Â Here are some photographs.
Each child was also presented with a pencil case with eraser, sharpener, ruler and two pencils as a result of Write Start and Cllr Mark Kerr determined that every child in Ward 1 started with the same resources, and so were equal. Â Thank you for this positive initiative.
Secret Pupil Class Challenge
P6/7 completed their secret pupil challenge and as a reward they chose to do a cooking morning. We made four different types of pasta dishes, Some more popular than others! We made Amatriciana, Tuna pasta, Creamy Chicken and Basil pasta and Greek Salad pasta.
Kilsyth Civic Week Football Tournament
A very big thank you to all the boys and girls who braved the wet weather to attend the football event for Kilsyth Civic Week.  Our Chapelgreen/Banton team did us proud and represented both schools fantastically.  Thank you to all those who came and supported the team.  This was very much appreciated.  Here are some pre-tournament training photos!
Primary 1 Transition
It was lovely to welcome the nursery children back into the classroom for their final transition visit.  They were concentrating hard to pinch and control their pencil so that they could write their name and draw a face.  Thank you to the Primary 1 buddies who helped them.  Following their time in the classroom the children got to experience eating their lunch in the dinner hall.  They learned how to collect their food, where to sit and how to clear up after themselves.  Great work!  Well done boys and girls!
Primary 7 Transitions
The P7’s have just returned from their first day visit to high school. They all seemed to really enjoy it and can’t wait to go back tomorrow. Highlight of the day was trampolining for PE!
