THE WINNING HOUSE FOR THE EXTRA PLAYTIME ON FRIDAY IS OAK! Well done.
Scottish Event 2017
The pupils and staff of Chapelgreen Primary gave a great performance today. They shared their learning about Scottish Literature, Songs and Poems. P1-3 demonstrated the skills they had been learning in music by using a variety of instruments to keep the beat to the Song “Coulter’s Candy”. P4/5 had a Burn’s Singing and Poetry Recital Competition and the winners received a huge round of applause. P6/7 had been writing poetry and learning about chants which they demonstrated most effectively. They also applied their learning to the context of “The Parable of the Sower” and used mime to share the message within this. Please take a look at some of the photographs from the presentation.
Our pupils wowed their audience by demonstrating their Scottish Dancing. P1-3 did a fantastic job of the “St Bernard’s Waltz”. While P4/5 showed us the ‘Toe and Heel’ step. Here is one of the chants from P6/7.

The Winning House Is……
BEECH!
Congratulations to the pupils of Beech House for earning the most points last term. They chose to watch a movie and thanks to the Captain James Colangelo and Vice Captain Declan Haggerty, a poster was created for members of Beech House to sign up for their favourite movie! How To Train Your Dragon 2 was the most popular.
The pupils of Chapelgreen know how to make themselves comfy and brought in their pyjamas to relax on the crash mat, followed by some popcorn and drinks. A great time was had by all.
Successful Learners
Everyone is working hard to develop the skills they need for life and work. We recognised some of our Successful Learners at our Assembly this week.
Harley P1 – For excellent work in Numeracy and working on addition using numbers 0-10;
Lyle P2 – For successfully completing a sound flower to display words with the phoneme ‘ue’ in them. He used careful listening to help him complete his task.
Rose P4 – For her excellent research about the Titanic and for remembering to use these facts in her topic work.
Amy P4 – For remembering the main ideas and events from her novel study ‘Titanic: Death on the Water’ and being able to use them in discussion and her written work.
Rory P6 – For excellent homework of the highest standard, finishing off a website that he wrote from scratch.
James F P7 – For superb homework on his photography project, bringing in the frame and setting up photos in thirds, etc.
Well done to all our Successful Learners!

Thank You Bam Nutall
We have a business partnership with Bam Nutall and recently those links were re-established. Bam Nutall celebrated being 150 years in business! They gave us snap rulers and waistcoat key rings which are both fluorescent and which will help everyone to be seen in the dark mornings or early nights. Thank you Bam Nutall. We look forward to continuing to build links with you.
