As part of our Topic about India and the Commonwealth Games we learned all about Indian Mendhi tottoos. The children found out about how, why and when thay are used and were keen to try them out themselves.
Rebecca from the @Home Centre very kindly came along to give us all a tattoo.
The girls really enjoyed trying on the saris, we found out that Indian
girls wear them during our topic work. I think they looked beautiful.
The children decided that they would like to design their own Rangoli Pattern. They wanted to it with flowers for our garden. We all thought hard about the design, even asking our parents for homework and eventually decided upon a flower design made with flowers.
While learning about Scotland’s cities we researched all about Aberdeen. We found out that Aberdeen is all about oil. We made our own impression of an oilrig using art straws then used them to do some printing.
Primary 3/4 had a Burn’s Supper to celebrate Rabbie Burn’s Day. Some of us loved the haggis, neeps and tatties although some have still to be convinced. Â Some Scottish dance music in the background and the scene was set. As you can see from the faces a great time was had by all.
On Friday the boys and girls took part in a class learning assembly. We told the whole school about our work learning about Scotland’s cities. Everyone learned lots and the boys and girls had great fun showing off.
