P2 Chris Bennett – Athlete Visit

P2 loved having a Scottish athlete who has competed at Olympic level come visit the school yesterday .  He told us about competing in Hammer Throwing,  how often he has to train and the foods he needs to eat to perform at his best.  The whole school got to take part in fitness stations and P2 loved the challenge!

P2 Subtraction Carousels

P2 have been working on their subtraction skills.  They have been using a numberline, cubes and iPads to help them find the smaller number.  Our three stations consisted of Maths workbooks, Smartboard “Building Expressions Game” on Topmarks and a dice challenge to consolidate their learning.

Class Certificates

Well done to the children who received a certificate today. They were all Achieving Ava! Our assembly was held in the afternoon today as our netball and football teams were out at the local sports festival this morning. They played well and the points gained today go towards their overall position in the Bellshill league.

Chris Bennett Visit

Primary 3 really enjoyed our visit from Chris Bennett who is a hammer thrower for Scotland and Great Britain. This morning, we went outside and used a trundle wheel to measure the distance Chris can throw the hammer. We can’t believe how far 74.66 metres is! It was a great day!
