Welcome to our website and blog.  I am looking forward to giving regular updates on all that is happening in St Bernadette’s.  This week  we are looking forward to Kilbowie with p7 next week.  We are hoping this current good weather lasts!

We have a busy week ahead with a Scottish Parliament workshop for P6 & P7.  The children will get a chance to develop their debating skills.  I wonder what the big debate will be….

I am also enjoying formal visits to all classes this week.  Today I was with P5 for Religious and Moral Education.  It was great to see the children responding so well to all the activities Mrs Brogan had organised.  I was very impressed with the meditation and the role play.  The children showed a lot of maturity and sensitivity in discussing Lent, Jesus’ temptation in the desert and temptations they have experienced.

Tomorrow I will get to see P4 being scientists!  I will also be attending a meeting at Our Lady’s High School to ensure we are on track with the transition programme for P7.  We have been asked to take part in a DVD about transitions which is very exciting.

On Wednesday the Choir will continue with their rehearsals for the music festival.  I heard them sing at assembly last week and it was very impressive, especially the singing in Spanish!

On Friday all our 10 committees will meet.  The Pupil Council are busy planning a sponsored hill climb up Tinto Hill for P4-7 and a walk to Strathclyde Park for P1-3.  This will be for after the Easter break.  We hope to raise enough money to be able to take all our classes out on Summer Outings.

Finally a reminder about Mass at 8.25am during Lent.  It is great to see so many of our children and parents attending, but of course there is always room for more!  It is a great way to start the day and the children are even treated to juice and biscuits courtesy of Fr Stephen.
