We are still awaiting final confirmation regarding our bid for Lottery Funding to improve our playground. If successful, the money will be used to install an outside classroom, playground painting, a ball catcher and football goals. Everyone is very excited and looking forward to seeing the work commence as soon as possible once the offer has been finalised. The total cost of the project is over £11,400, so we will also be planning some fund raisers in the near future. The Outdoor Learning Committee made a great start to it today with a very successful bring and buy sale and a raffle which raised nearly £100!
P5 visited Strathclyde University yesterday to take part in a range of science workshops. We were very impressed at how engaged the children were and we are confident we will have more than a few future scientists! The children were complimented on their knowledge and good behaviour throughout the visit.
Next week our cross country team will be going to Dalziell Park for the race heats. We wish everyone involved good luck!
Congratulations once again to our H Factor Award winners for this week. It is a great achievement to be nominated by your class teacher as being outstanding over the past two weeks! Keep it up!
Well done also to P3/2 who were awarded the Top Class Award. I was so very impressed with their behaviour, organisation, target setting and good manners when I visited their class this week. As a reward P3/2 enjoyed an extra play break today.
Congratulations also to Josh in P2 who was very successful at a recent swimming gala!
Finally thanks to Eve Esson in Primary 4 for her artwork and comments about all the things she does in school. Eve made the poster at home in her spare time. It is a great summary and reflects all the interesting work being done in St Bernadette’s!
