We have all been working hard and are now looking forward to the September Weekend.
Thanks to all who came in last week to support our Coffee Afternoon for McMillan Nurses. We were delighted to see Parents, Grandparents and friends of the school enjoy the lovely cakes and biscuits on offer. Well done to Mrs Bradley and the Community Links Committee for organising the event and thanks also to Emma Deans from CLD for her contribution to the event. Around £90 was raised and the cheque has now been sent off.
Well done also to P7 who gave a very confident performance at their assembly last week. They presented lots of information, memories and photos from their visit to Kilbowie. The visit has certainly made a lasting impression on the children which is wonderful to see.
All the committees met for the first time last week and I am delighted with all the ideas and contributions so far. The Pupil Council are organising a raffle for a brand new genuine I-Pad Mini, worth over £200 to raise funds for the school. The tickets are now on sale for £5, tickets will also be on sale during Parents’ Evening. The raffle will be drawn on Friday 11th October . Good Luck!
Another suggestion from Eve Esson from the Pupil Council is to have tea and coffee for Parents at Parents’ Evening. I am delighted to take up Eve’s suggestion and hope to have some of our Pupil Councillors helping out.
The classes have all been enjoying working this term and have produced some great work which is displayed around the school. I particularly like the P1 Oor Wullie buckets, P7 writing all about themselves, P6 Fun of the Fair writing, P5 Information about Edinburgh, P3/2 self portraits, P4/3 drawings of the Commonwealth venues and P2/1’s terrific tartan. Please make sure you take time at Parents’ Evening to look at all the excellent work around the school.
Well done to our H Factor winners for the last fortnight. It is great to see so many children consistently working hard and behaving well. Congratulations also to P3/2 our Top Class this week who have shown excellent skills in working independently on their tasks.
