Primary 3 visit Purves Puppets in Biggar

Today we had a terrific visit to Purves Puppets in Biggar.  The boys and girls loved watching how the puppeteers  brought the puppets  to life.  We sat in a small  traditional puppet theatre to watch the story of Tinderbox.  The boys and girls were captured with the puppets, lighting and the theatre.  The  dog puppets were very cool!

A Healthy Week in Primary 3

The boys and girls in Room 12 and 13 have been very busy this week learning lots about a healthy balanced diet and the sugar content in drinks.  Milkshake was a real shocker!  Please look out for  the “Rethink Your Drink” display at school entrance coming soon.  We have been very active in and around our school too.  Daily mile has certainly kept us fit.

Room 12 Daily Mile/ Beat the Street

Today the boys and girls had a great time swiping their fob at a beat box on our daily mile.  We collected lots of points and enjoyed  walking in our local community.  Many thanks to the parents and grandparents helping us today.

The boys and girls have had a very creative week in Room12.   They have enjoyed a range of active learning tasks from the Easter story on our ActivPanel, creating their own personal painted egg, making an Easter chick/bunny box, card making, outdoor egg roll and the Easter bonnet/ hat parade in the gym hall.  The Easter bonnets made at home were fantastic!  Thank you.    Hope you have a great Easter weekend.

Room 12 News

We have had a busy week in class and are enjoying using our new Smart board.

Active Maths

Here we are learning about recognising and totalling money.

Interdisciplinary Topic

This week as part of our Minibeast topic  we have been learning about a snail.

Fact of the week-  Land snails have lots of small teeth!

We are looking forward to going with the pupils from Room 13 to the Sports Development Festival this term.

Room 12 Book Week

We had a fantastic time at Book Week.  We loved reading the book “Jack and the Beanstalk.”  Chloe enjoyed acting out the story with her peers and performing on the stage.  Kelsie loved making the beanstalk out of a selection of materials.  Kayleigh  enjoyed learning about the parts of a bean and planting her very own bean.  Tommy loved making his very own magic bean out of clay.  Sophie was very keen to use her measuring skills to measure the beanstalks and place them in the correct order.  Evan  loved reading his book  for the Readathon.  We had a fabulous week and participated in lots of active activities.book week photos
