Dreamweaver – adding a hyperlink

A hyperlink is a made up of two parts, the anchor which is a piece of text or an image and the link which is either a full URL or a reference relative to the page you are on. They are used on web sites for navigation between connected pages. Hyperlinks are only one way with the destination page being unaware of the page containing the link.

  • To attach a hyperlink to a piece of text or an image you must first select it.
  • You can then either add the link from the properties area or my clicking insert->hyperlink I prefer to use the properties window, just change the contents of the link field, the browse/folder button lets you select other pages.
  • The text or image will get a blue border to show the link.
