We have been working on weather and climate in class. Weather is the condition of a particular place and time unlike climate is an average weather. They are different things. This is our class blog.

Ashton  weather is minute by minute and climate is 30 years or more.
Gregor  Weather and climate are different because weather is minute by minute changes and climate is over a long period of time.
Alfie:the climate changes 30 years or more.
Jenna:weather can change second to second climate stays for 30 years or more.
Calum H: Weather and climate is not the same.
Eva: some people live in the sea because their climate is tropical
Aaron:climate changes very rarely.
 Rishi climate is an average weather.
Robyn-my favourite climate is Arid because it is warm and I like the warm cause it is fun to chill in the sun
Aaron my favourite climate is tropical because I to hot
Aaron my least favourite climate is arid is to hot
Kyle Co Arctic is my favourite because it is cold ❄️🗻
Niamh Arctic  is my favourite because is very snowy 🗻❤️
Aaron : Weather is the condition of the outside air or atmosphere at a particular time and place
Ashton : The  higher you go the colder it gets.
Jenna: when condensed is got to much it rains.
CalumH:Climate stays for a long period of time.
Kyle Ca: weather  can change really fast
Hannah M: weather can change any time any place
Abby: this is a fact about climate … The weather of a particular  area over  a long period of time becomes the climate.

In maths we have been doing multiplication and division .

Calum h : Calum thought division was really hard but now knows it’s easy .

Kyle ca:If you can do one fact family you can do four.

Jenna: Learned her nine times tables on division .

Ashton : I know how to do multiplication .

Coral: Coral is better at her times tables.

Kyle Co: it is easy

Morgan: if you know your multiplication  then you know your division

Adrianna: I know one fact I know four.

Violet and Ryan+Rishi: I have leaned that division is the opposite of multiplication

Ashton: think my nine time table has developed

Hannah Mal: there is lot’s of different patterns in multiplication

Harris: A lot of people know to divide on the six time table

Christie: I like the games and I am getting good at the six time tables

Weather and Climate Topic

In Primary 4 we have been learning about Weather and Climate, what they mean, the differences between them – and how we can explore the meanings behind each.

We created our own forecasts and filmed them on the iPads. We have researched independently what Weather and Climate mean, and their differences. Every day we log the weather and display it. We have been learning that climates have very different conditions from Antarctica to Africa. In our Cooperative groups we worked together to create presentations on different climates. The 5 climates are Arid, Arctic, Temperate, Tropical and Mediterranean.

Maths: Multiplication

In maths Primary 4 have been working on our new focus, multiplication. We looking at the 3,6 and 9 tables in particular but still thinking about other tables!

We are learning that multiplication is easy when you practice and that division is just multiplication backwards!

Primary 4 have been working so hard on this, and we have all been trying to practice as much as possible at home!

There are some good game links on multiplication practice (all tables), Hit the Button (focuses on quick fire questions) and general practice sites, games and challenges.

Scottish Afternoon: Primary 4

Scottish Afternoon 2016 is the first Scottish Afternoon show that our Primary 4’s are taking part in. Our area for the assembly is Edinburgh. You can find out cool facts about Edinburgh here.

We have been working very hard in class and at home on our part of the show.

We are learning a very long poem written in ‘auld Scots’ called “Listen Tae the Teacher“.

We are also performing a classic hit song from the 1970s by a band called “Pilot – It’s Magic“.

Primary 4 NEW Scottish topic: Charles Rennie Mackintosh

In class we have been learning about Charles Rennie Mackintosh. We have created keynotes, posters, pictures and word documents about him.

Primary 4 know lots of facts about Charles Rennie Mackintosh:

He was born in 1868. By Hannah Mac and Aaron.

He moved to England in 1915 and travelled to France to paint landscapes and flowers. By Aaraa and Rishi.

He was not that famous in Britan but he was in Germany and Austria. Gregor and Kyle Ca.

He invented a room called the Willow Tea Rooms. By Ashton

He was fourth of 11 children and son of William Mackintosh and Margret Rennie. By Abby and Niamh

He died 1928 10th December in Spain when he was 59. By Hannah P and Morgan.

Charles Rennie Mackintosh had a family of 5. By Eva and Sarah.

The part of Glasgow school of art that Charles Rennie Mackintosh desined got set on fire. By Coral
