Today Primary 5/6/7 showed their respects by reciting poems and singing songs for Remembrance Day. Here are some pictures of them in action and some of their Remembrance themed paintings are also included. We are so proud to have such talented children in our school!
Blubber Experiment
During their Polar Explorers topic, Primary 1/2/3/4 have been researching the polar animals that live in the Arctic and Antarctic. Many of the children kept asking how these animals manage to stay warm in such freezing conditions, so today we conducted an experiment to see how ‘blubber’ helps keep the animals warm.
It was a messy job, but someone’s got to do it!
P3/4 Pic Collage Information Writing
Today, P3/4 were using their research notes to create a fact file of an animal from the Arctic or Antarctic. They were learning how to insert images and different text fonts on Pic Collage to make their information attractive and eye catching for their reader. As you can see…the polar bear was a popular choice!
P1-4 Polar Technology Craft Challenge!
Last week, Primaries 1-4 were given a technology challenge as part of their homework – to create an Arctic / Antarctic scene using a cardboard box! Every child participated in the task and put in so much effort! Here are some pictures of their finished projects!

Almond Valley Visit
Our blog is back up and running after a brief Glow update! Hooray!
Before the October holidays, Primaries 1-4 were learning about the Harvest. They visited Almond Valley Heritage Centre and got the chance to learn about where their food comes from and how it is gathered. Here are some pictures of their day! You will notice that they got the chance to be ‘Tattie Pickers’ for the day and all the vegetables that they collected were used to make some delicious soup!

The Life of an Astronaut!
Primary 1,2,3 and 4 have been learning all about astronauts in their Space topic and on Thursday, they got the chance to try some freeze dried astronaut food!
Making Moon Rocks!
As part of their Space topic and Instructional Writing, Primary 3/4 were making moon rocks! They used baking soda, black food colouring, glitter and a splash of water, then they shaped their rocks with their hands. When their moon rocks were ready, they wrote instructions on how to make them. Now the other classes can give it a go!
