Our Parent Council kindly organised a Valentine disco for all our pupils and every child was given the opportunity to design a t-shirt to wear at the disco. Check out our P1/2’s t-shirt fashion show !

Visit from Caldervale High School
Caldervale staff and pupils visited Tollbrae and Calderbank P7’s who will be moving on in August. They heard from former pupils, listening to their experiences and advice on the exciting move to high school.
Glee Club
Primary 7 from Calderbank and Tollbrae partnership schools join the audience for a recording of Comic Relief does Glee Club!
It was a fantastic experience for our senior pupils. Watch out for us on your screens around the 15th of March.
‘Rights Respecting School’
As part of our Health & Wellbeing programme all children in the school have been learning about the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. We have been looking at film and animation illustrating children’s rights and have been having a go at creating our own. We will be posting our film and animations soon !

Local play park fun !
In our school dining room the children have the opportunity to earn stars for their table in order to win a trip to the local play park.
Each day staff look for good manners –
- Saying please and thank you
- Being patient and waiting your turn
- Tiding up after ourselves
- Using quiet voices
- Being kind and helpful to others
Some of our children had a special visit to our local play park as a reward for good behaviour. We had great fun together!

Primary 6/7 did a wonderful job planning and organising our annual Burns celebration. Take a look !
Scottish poetry competition
On Friday morning we welcomed friends and family to join us for our annual poetry competition. We were delighted to have representatives from the Burns Society and Airdrie Savings Bank to help Mrs Welsh to judge the event. All children were encouraged to enter and a winner from each stage of the school were selected. The winning performances will be added to the blog soon. Check out the photos below!
Artwork inspired by Scottish artist Alan Davie
As part of our Scottish focus, primary 4, 5 & 6 have been looking closely at the work of Grangemouth born artist Alan Davie. We created our own abstract art and even tried out some press printing techniques.
