Here is a taste of the clubs that our children can choose from, as a reward for their good behaviour and effort throughout the week.
Little Learners
Our first ‘Little Learners’ group meet today. Anne Chalmers from Community Learning & Development came along to work with children and parents from P1/2 and the children enjoyed nursery rhymes, stories and games.
The group will be meeting for the next 4 weeks and we warmly welcome any other parents of P1/2 children who would like to join us.
Planetarium Visit
Our science & technology week got off to a flying start today with a visit from ThinkScience ! John brought along an inflatable planetarium to help us learn more about the stars in our night sky.
Learners develop their understanding of the Earth’s position within the universe while developing a sense of time and scale.
It’s Good to Be Green !
On the last day of term we congratulated the children who had been consistently on green in term 1, never receiving an amber warning or red card. We are very proud of their efforts and hard work and they received a special certificate in recognition this.
We are extremely pleased with the effectiveness of the daily diaries in keeping the children on track. There has been a significant improvement in the overall behaviour within the school and we are delighted with the childrens’ willingness to strive to improve.
As you are already aware, the school offers weekly rewards in the form of our learning clubs. These are chosen by the children and offer a wide range of stimulating and enjoyable learning activities to motivate the children. However, in addition to this, we are delighted to announce that all children will be receiving the end of term, ‘Fantastic Five reward !
This end of term reward offers a longer term goal for all children to work towards. During term 1, the children were required to have 5 full green weeks to be a ‘Fantastic Five’.
We are delighted to announce that EVERY CHILD IN THE SCHOOL has been successful and will receive this reward!
This amazing achievement will be celebrated on the 25th October when all children will be enjoying a cinema afternoon. They will choose from one of the three films on offer and will receive popcorn, a hotdog and a drink to enjoy too.
P1/2 Marbling
P1/2 have been exploring colour and different printing techniques this term. They had great fun creating colourful prints using marbling inks.
I have the opportunity to choose and explore a range of media and technologies to create images and objects, discovering their effects and suitability for specific tasks. EXA 1-02a
P3/4 Football
Primary 3 & 4 have been enjoying developing their football skills during weekly sessions organised by Active Schools.

We would like you to meet our CHUMS for this school year. The children work hard to help other children have a safe and happy breaktime.

Our P5/6/7 children are working hard to improve their netball skills and they are taking part in a series of netball tournaments within our school cluster.
