Friday Learning Clubs
We have just started a new block of learning clubs. The children were able to choose from a range of activities including-
- Knitting
- Cooking & baking
- Enterprise
- Animation
- B&Q- You Can Do It !
- PE Games
I can use textile skills in situations in practical and creative situations in my place of learning, at home or in the world of work. TCH 3-10c
Within real and imaginary settings, I am developing my practical skills as I select and work with a range of materials, tools and software. TCH 0-12a
I explore materials, tools and software to discover what they can do and how I can use them to help solve problems and construct 3D objects which may have moving parts. TCH 1-12a
I am developing skills and techniques and improving my level of performance and fitness. HWB 1-22a
I can follow and understand rules and procedures, developing my ability to achieve personal goals. I recognise and can adopt different roles in a range of practical activities. HWB 1-23a
I experience a sense of enjoyment and achievement when preparing simple healthy foods and drinks. HWB 1-30b
I have experienced the different jobs involved in running a business enterprise and understand the role each one plays in its success.

By experiencing the setting up and running of a business, I can collaborate in making choices relating to the different roles and responsibilities and have evaluated its success.

School Grounds Development
P3/4 helped Alan Kain to plan out our new garden area. They used a variety of different ways to measure length and recorded them in a plan.
MNU 1-11a I can estimate how long or heavy an object is, or what amount it holds, using everyday things as a guide, then measure or weigh it using appropriate instruments and units.
Unicef Day For Change 2014
Bulb Planting
We have been working together to improve our school grounds. We planted lots of different flower bulbs and are planning lots more gardening to brighten up our playground and grow our own herbs and vegetables.
P5/6 Football Festival
Our footballers joined other teams in the Airdrie cluster to play 7 a side football. The children played well and were praised for their behaviour, positive attitude and good sportsmanship.
JRSO – New Cycle Shelter
Our JRSO representatives meet with the NLC Road safety team to discuss plans to build a cycle shelter in the school playground. The JRSO conducted a vote to decide on the shelter colour. The highest votes was for the colour blue and the new shelter should be ready in March.
All children are reminded that they are welcome bring their cycle or scooter to school each day. We recommend that the wear a safety helmet and bring a bike lock to secure their property during the school day.
Share my learning evening
On Tuesday 4th February, many of our parents came along to visit the school and share in the learning of their children.
Our Christmas Party
We have a fun time at the school Christmas party today!
