Well done girls for your tremendous performance on Tuesday night! The overall winners were Christ the King Primary School but we did ourselves proud. Our Eco Committee put in a lot of effort to make our entry which was a video highlighting all of the work we do to make our school environmentally friendly. It was a great achievement to get to the final.

Eco Week – House Orienteering Challenge
Well done to all 12 teams who successfully completed an orienteering challenge around the school grounds today! Thanks to Stephen Hughes, our Active Schools Coordinator, for lending us the equipment. The results will be announced tomorrow at our end of week review and fashion show. It was very close!
Spring Nature Walk with Drumpellier Park Countryside Rangers
This morning we enjoyed a walk round our local countryside with Jackie and Jamie, the Countryside Rangers. We walked along the side of the North Calder River and also saw the Monkland Canal. We saw the tracks of a few animals such as badgers but we were a bit too noisy to see them in the flesh!
Eco Week – Wild About Scotland Bus
The Wild About Scotland bus visited us today! On the bus, the children from all of the classes got a chance to learn about some native Scottish animals, in particular beavers and wildcats. It was a very informative and enjoyable day!

Airdrie Eco Schools Visit Calderbank
Today, we welcomed two children and their Eco coordinator from seven different local schools to walk around our school and see all of the hard work we’ve been putting into our nature garden and other aspects of Eco. Our Eco Committee were at the front door to meet and greet everyone as they arrived. The children took part in some den building, kindly assisted by Taylor, Jenna and Ashley-Anne. Later on we received a very informative talk from EDF energy about nuclear power.
