Science Centre

We had a brilliant time at the Glasgow Science centre on Wednesday. So much fun interacting with the exhibits; finding out more about space and beyond! We had the red carpet treatment from all involved, even an interactive lesson explaining how we use our senses!

STEAM fortnight is in full swing and as we prepare for the Easter holidays, there will be many opportunities to get experimental in class. So many wonderful ways to explore cause and effect and we just LOVE it.

Warmest Wishes from the Primary C team x

Primary C – STEAM week

What a fantastic start to our STEAM week activities with an amazing visit from ‘Think Science’!

We explored Space rocks, dry ice (- using it to make huge clouds and for fun popping experiments), bubbles that you can catch and fun with a plasma ball. Lots of fun had by all!!

Space Fun in Primary C!

Lots of fun today during our ‘The Sky’s the Limit’ topic work exploring Venus with Astro Ted!  We found out that Venus is the second plant from the sun, is covered in clouds and is incredibly hot. We also carried out some science experiments in class to represent volcanos – which there are lots of on Venus.

We then moved into the sensory studio to explore our own planets and stars that we painted, which glowed beautifully under the ultra violet light! To finish up our fun in the sensory studio we had great time using the different Space games on Magic Carpet!

The Sky’s the Limit!

Primary C have been loving exploring space as part of their topic – The Sky’s the Limit!

Each week ‘Astro Ted’ travels up into space and visits different planets. When he comes back to planet Earth he brings his sparkly ‘galactic’ bag filled with information about each planet for us to explore! This week we have explored Mars. We had lots of different red items to explore – as we found out Mars it is often referred to as  the ‘Red Planet’, and ice – because it is a very cold planet. Astro Ted also brought us red noses just for fun!

We have been Spring cleaning!!

Primary A, B and C have been busy carrying out our annual Spring clean.  We all came together to learn about recycling and sorting our rubbish into different bins.  Linsey lead a great session with some songs about litter picking and recycling.  We then all went outside to collect any litter we could find and sort it into the correct bins.  Well done everyone and thank you Linsey for organising it all.

Strictly Come Disco! for Sport Relief

On Friday 16th March we had a dress up or dress down day in aid of Sport Relief.  The whole school came together to get their Strictly Come Disco on partied the afternoon away.  We decorated with disco balls that the pupils made and had sensory lights.  Everyone had a great time and we raised £66.00 for Sport Relief.

Well done everyone!!!

Burns Brunch 2018

Our annual Burns Brunch event took place on February the 8th. It was well attended by both parents and the local community. Everyone joined in with the scottish country dancing, clapped along with the procession and address to the haggis and the skits performed by the primary classes. Then we had some scottish delicacies (haggis, neeps and tatties.)

It was a huge success and a fantastic experience for all our pupils to be involved in. We would like to thank everyone for their support and hope to see you next year 🙂

Sport Programme

Stuart Forsyth the Sports Development Worker connected to Fullerton Youth and Community Project has been coming into the school to deliver a 6 week block of sports taster sessions.

The pupils have had great fun and participated in all the activities which have been well organised and planned for our pupils.  The sports coaches have been involved in making the activities fun and challenging for all needs.
