Arran Residential Trip

When the children are on the ferry they will sit together in one of the lounges, there will be no wandering around the ferry. If children need to visit the bathroom while on the ferry, they will be accompanied by an adult. Children can have their own play piece in their jacket pocket which they can eat on the ferry in the lounge.

Children will be split into  groups and will stay within these groups throughout the week for activities. Most of the activities are outside but any activities inside will be with reduced capacity.

All outdoor equipment will be supplied e.g. welly boots, waterproofs, mittens, fleece, flask, backpack and balaclava. Parents should supply their children with clothes they would normally let them play with outdoors eg. joggers/leggings, hoody. There should be no jeans worn for daily activities. There will be one night for a party where children can wear smart/party clothes (which can include jeans).

Please bring:-

  • slippers
  • indoor soft shoes
  • 2 towels
  • disposable camera (no mobile phones)
  • old clothes/trainers
  • drink bottle
  • roll on deodorant (no aerosols)

No electrical equipment such as hand held gaming devices, mobile phones, hair dryers or  straighteners should be brought to the centre. Hair dryers are available in the drying room within the building.

Children can bring a sensible amount of sweets for down time, if they wish. Can the sweets be labelled and kept in a plastic bag.  Children will be supplied with  breakfast, lunch (pack lunch with a meat/veg filling for rolls and snacks), dinner and supper. There is no tuck shop in the centre so no money is needed for the residential trip.

Paying for the trip should be through ipay. Please contact the school if you have difficulties paying.

Please see the check list supplied by Arran Outdoor Centre.

Pupils are reminded to bring THICK SOCKS for welly boots and hiking boots instead of thin ankle socks. Pupils will also need a water bottle which should have their name on it.

This link will show you what the children will experience when they are in Arran.
