Our aim:

As a department we aim to make the pupil learning experience as enjoyable, positive and active aspossible. We promote a healthy lifestyle through participation in physical activity and aim to give
pupils a wide range of activities in which to do this. In addition to this at the end of each block of work an element of personalisation and choice is included for pupils.

Pupils should come to lessons with their PE kit which is:

• White t-shirt (plain)
• Black track bottoms/shorts/leggings
• Suitable trainers
• NO FOOTBALL TOPS SHOULD BE WORN

BGE PE

In S1-3 pupils will experience a wide range of activities and are assessed across a variety of benchmarks to identify current progress and their next steps in learning. These activities will include
experiences that will improve movement skills and competencies, co-operation and competition and develop the skills of evaluating and appreciation of pupil and peer performances.

Senior Phase

S4 pupils will have one period of core PE a week to contribute to their Health and Wellbeing. We also have a full range of National Qualifications on offer to provide progression from N4 to Higher
PE.

Extra –curricular

The PE department has wide range of extra-curricular clubs for pupils to come along to at lunchtime and after school. These are open to all year groups. We also work closely with the Active Schools team to give pupils the opportunity to participate and a compete in sporting events locally and nationally
