Senior Phase

One of the aims of the senior phase is to encourage you to plan your pathway as a set of qualifications and experiences across S4-S6. Planning this will support you with managing the challenge associated with certificated courses and assessment.

Within the choice process two events take place:

• Indication of choice in December (Example Forms)

This event is the first opportunity you will get to indicate your most likely choices for the coming year.  The information from this event is then used to establish subject uptake and create a column structure for the choices that will ensure the majority of learners receive their first choices.

• Final subject choice in February

At this point you will be more than halfway through your current courses and should be thinking about the next steps.

The links below also provides detailed information on courses that may run in the year ahead.  Please note that some courses incur a fee.  Take time to discuss your possible choices with parents, guidance teachers and careers advisors prior to both choice events so that informed choices can be made.  You will have the opportunity to discuss your subject choices and pathway planning with your guidance and subject teachers but please do not hesitate to get in touch should you require and further information.

Subject pages (alphabetically)

As well as National courses, pupils in the Senior Phrase will have the opportunity to study:

Also pupils in S5/S6 will have the opportunity to study:
