Reminder: Honey For Sale by KGS Beekeeping Group

As we start our new Beekeeping qualification at KGS this year, the  KGS Beekeeping students have been learning how to extract honey.

They worked really hard removing the wax capping from the honey frames (above) before spinning the frames in an extractor to remove the honey (below).

End result was 24 lovely jars of honey which we have available to sell from the school reception – £5 for 220g on a “First come first served” basis.

Very well done, to our new Beekeeper enthusiasts.

SCHOLAR Information Session for Parents and Carers

 

SCHOLAR provides a range of National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher online courses and support materials for young people in subscribing local authorities across Scotland.

The webinar will take place in MS Teams and will provide an overview for parents and carers of:

  • the key features of the courses;
  • how your child can access their account and courses; and
  • how they can make the most of SCHOLAR to support their learning and revision.

Dufftown Clock Tower Abseil

We are running a joint fundraising abseil with Dufftown and District Community Association to deliver a joint fundraising abseil on 20th August and participants will be abseiling from the DUFFTOWN CLOCK TOWER! Participants will have the choice of abseiling from either the clock tower roof or the top floor window.


Clock Tower roof: £30 (ages 18+)
Top floor window: £20 (ages 12+)


All participants must raise a minimum sponsorship of £50 which will be split 50/50 between Outfit Moray & Dufftown & District Community Association, once all the funds have been received.

School Uniform Expectations

All pupils should be wearing uniform from the following options:
• Black skirt/trousers/shorts
• Black shoes (need not be formal)
• Plain white shirt/Polo shirt/T-shirt
• School tie is provided and can be worn daily/for formal occasions

• Black jumper/cardigan if required (non-branded)
• Prefect tie for any young person in a student leadership position
• Black blazer/jumper (with KGS badge)

In addition to this, all pupils should:
• Not be wearing a hood over their head in class.
• Not be wearing a jacket in class or in assembly.
• Not be wearing jeans of any description
• Not be wearing tracksuits.
• Not be wearing any clothing which is branded and has large               logos/motifs.
