online literacy assessment

2nd October 2015

On my first attempt at the OLA, I achieved 74%.

I found that I am confident with my spelling, and am mostly capable with my punctuation; making just one silly mistake. My main weakness at the moment is my ability to identify the different sentence parts such as proper nouns and adverbs.

I am not surprised by this result. I feel that I am able to write proficiently and understand the way that a sentence should be arranged however, as this comes naturally, I haven’t given much thought to the grammar rules. I will now go away and do some reading with the aim of achieving the 80% mark on my next attempt.

I am very happy to have achieved 86% on my latest attempt at the OLA. This is a greater improvement than I had expected and boosts my confidence as it is clear that my revision is having a positive impact.

I am growing in confidence with the grammar rules such as identifying adverbs but sometimes I still make silly mistakes. I will continue to be aware of this and practice regularly until I am proficient enough to break a sentence down into its parts without any hesitation.

I am now working towards achieving  90%
