Science Planning Resource – Context Planners & Remote Learning Resources

These planners have been created to give practitioners some suggestions for developing rich contexts for learning.  There are examples for early, first and second level.  They follow a natural theme and weave in relevant curricular areas.  When they were written, care was taken to consider activities and approaches that could be shared in the classroom, alongside learning that could be delivered remotely.  Opportunities for Interdisciplinary learning have also been included.

Resources are hyperlinked for each section within the theme and mapping to the experiences and outcomes has been completed.

These planners are provided as examples of what could be used.  They are not meant to be prescriptive but hopefully deliver some fresh ideas and approaches. This video gives an overview of the context planners and how you might use them.

Remote Learning Resources

The link below takes you to a number of resources which provide suggestions for supporting remote learning. They are in no way prescriptive and can be adapted to suit local needs. Education Scotland would like to thank Dumfries and Galloway Council, The Highland Council, West Lothian Council, City of Edinburgh Council and Falkirk Council for allowing us to share these materials.
