SSERC: Nat 5 Practical Electronics

This course is designed to support teachers teaching the SQA Nat 5 practical electronics course. The course will be extremely beneficial to those new to teaching practical electronics. Over two days we will have presentations and activities that will cover:
  • Analysis and design of the problem
  • Designing and simulating a solution
  • Logic gates
  • Op amps and comparators
  • Timers
  • Constructing the solution
  • Moving from circuit diagrams to stripboard layout
  • Soldering
  • Wiring
  • Testing the solution
  • Using multimeters, logic probes and CRO’s
  • Reporting on the solution
We will also have input from the SQA principal assessor and principal verifier to provide guidance on understanding standards, project work, assessment and verification.
