SSERC: Nat 5 Practical Electronics
This course is designed to support teachers teaching the SQA Nat 5 practical electronics course. The course will be extremely beneficial to those new to teaching practical electronics. Over two days we will have presentations and activities that will cover:
- Analysis and design of the problem
- Designing and simulating a solution
- Logic gates
- Op amps and comparators
- Timers
- Constructing the solution
- Moving from circuit diagrams to stripboard layout
- Soldering
- Wiring
- Testing the solution
- Using multimeters, logic probes and CRO’s
- Reporting on the solution
We will also have input from the SQA principal assessor and principal verifier to provide guidance on understanding standards, project work, assessment and verification.
