If I live in the catchment area for another school but would like to attend Irvine Royal Academy what do I do?

All you need to do is fill in a placing request form. These forms are available from North Ayrshire Council Education Department or you could speak to Mrs Sutherland, Head Teacher, who will be able to help.

Is there a school bus to Irvine Royal Academy? 

No, there is not a school bus however pupils can get the Number 22 which has stops outside our school.

Are there Parent’s Nights at Irvine Royal Academy?

Yes! There are parent’s nights for all year groups. We send out a calendar at the start of the school year with all key dates for parent’s nights, options events and reports.

What extra-curricular activities are on offer at Irvine Royal Academy?

Lots! We have an extensive list of clubs that take place during the school day and after school. Please look on our school website for more details. All P7 pupils have been given a list of what is on this term.

What food is offered in the canteen?

Our catering staff are excellent and really listen to the voice of young people. We have a wide range of first class hot meals, rolls and snacks. We have lots of healthy and nutritious options like paninis, a selection of salads, pastas, baguettes, croissants, fruit, yoghurt, granola and much more.  We also have a tea/coffee bar too.

What if my child needs additional support?

Each child learns in different ways and at a different pace. We can meet the needs of all young people by tailoring support to their individual learning styles and needs. We have a superb compliment of staff across the school who go above and beyond for all our pupils. We have a dedicated support team who can offer particular support with literacy, numeracy, self-esteem, confidence, growth-mindset, small group work and one to one tuition.
