Five ways to keep your children occupied (and learning!) at home: home learning advice for parents

Whether it’s for a day, a week or a month, keeping your child off school and at home can be an unsettling proposition.

Though the extra time together as a family can sometimes be a blessing in disguise, you might be worried about keeping them up to date with their school work or occupying their attention for the entire day – especially if you’re stuck inside!

Useful advice from BBC Teach available here.

The Literacy shed: videos for learners

Here at Literacy Shed we aim to provide teachers with high quality films and animations that can be used in the primary classroom to enhance the teaching of reading and writing. All of the films on the site we think are suitable for primary aged children although some films may not be suitable for younger children.  We urge that teachers watch any films before showing them to children.
