Expressive arts

The inspiration and power of the arts play a vital role in enabling our children and young people to enhance their creative talent and develop their artistic skills. Children will learn to express themselves in different ways and be creative. In addition, they will develop an appreciation of aesthetic and cultural values, identities and ideas through:

        • Art and Design
        • Dance (including the popular Scottish Country Dancing)
        • Drama
        • Music

We are also very lucky at Wellshot to be a part of the Baby Strings programme. Every child from P1-4 has the opportunity to learn a stringed instrument. From P5-7, many pupils continue to have lessons during class time. This is a wonderful opportunity for our pupils to be able to have access to such a wonderful resource. Please stay informed about upcoming concerts and events as they are a wonderful opportunity for our pupils to display their learning. Lots of pupils also attend a club on Saturday in City Halls in Glasgow. Please get in touch with your child’s teacher or the baby strings (CREATE) team for more information. Many children also take their instrument home for further practice.
