Queens Park Trip

Our Girls football club had the chance last week to go to Hampden Park Stadium the home of Scottish football and Queens Park FC to meet a ex professional woman’s Scotland international football Suzanne Winters and have a tour of the stadium and a woman’s football history tour of the Scottish football Musemu. Thanks to Queens Park FC for Setting it up for our Girls.

They had a great tour getting to see the Bus tunnel, changing rooms, warm up area, the tunnel and pitch side to see where the teams sit, before lifting the Scottish (Cardboard) Cup.

We had a Q&A with Suzanne Winters an Ex Scotland Player with 105 Caps and got to ask all the important questions Like Ronaldo or Messi and how many goals did you score in one game.

The girls got some great incite into how to be a good professional and what struggles that She faced when she was younger.

A great day was had by all and a big thank you to Queens Park FC, Scotland and Suzanne Winters for having us along for the day. It was great Fun.

Maths Week

Last week was St Albert’s Maths week. So some of our classes were lucky enough to be able to combine some healthy exercise with some complex number learning.

A BIG Thank You too our Primary 2 class for spending a very cold morning outside practicing there sums and number bonds. You all did really well and hope you had lots of fun learning and getting fit at the same time.

Summer School Sports

Over the last two weeks of summer St Albert’s run a sports camp for some of our pupils. It was a way of using sport to get our kids fit, active, have fun and get ready for coming back to school.

Over the two weeks we had over 100 kids attend the camp. As part of the camp our pupils received a St Albert’s fitness T-shirt, water bottle and a free lunch.  Our kids got the chance to play different sports from rugby and football to games of kick ball and Jungle run. A Big Thank you to UTD Sports coaching for coming helping out and also being great fun too.

Euro Finals

After a great week of football and even better set of Group games it was time to find out who will be the overall winners and take on our teachers.

The teams that made it though to the Semi finals were P6 Ukraine vs P6/7 and Class 2 Germany and in the other semi final it was P7 Poland vs P6 Czech Republic.

Both Semi Finals were hotly contested but our teams that made it through were both from P6 to set up a Final game of P6 Ukraine vs  P6 Czech Republic.

It was a cagey affair but in the end the P6 Ukraine team came out winners 2-1 with a last second free kick save to win our tournament and set themselves up for a prize game against the Teachers! Well done everyone who took part! and Well done team Ukraine!!! We will be seeing you on the pitch soon!!!
