Great Scottish Run Update part 2

A MASSIVE!! Well done is in order for our Primary 6 Class as they have made it all the way to Fort William in less than 4 Days! They made the 96 Mile West Highland Way trip after finishing a walk around the school and the local Pollokshield area hitting the final mark back at school.

Once they made it back they Mr Corrigan made the class reminisce about the journey they had been on around a lovely constructed camp fire to celebrate the 96 mile trek from Milngavie to Fort William. Massive achievement and congrats to all the P6’s for completing the Great Scottish Schools Run!!!!

They have two weeks to complete the task using for of exercise that they can track their mileage. Each class will be given a tracker to check the progress along the famous route. We will keep upto date with the classes over the coming weeks and on our twitter with the has tag #virtualGSSR, Best of Luck to both classes.

P5 Track and Field Athletics

Since the start of this term our Primary 5’s have been working very hard with Mrs Pattie and Duncan learning and challenging themselves at different track and field events during their PE time.

So far we have tried, Long jump, shot putt, baton relay races, 800 meters and today was Hurdles and Javelin. One set of our P5s were so good at the hurdles Duncan brought out bigger ones to challenge them.

Brilliant effort from the Primary 5’s on increasing there fitness during the sessions and am sure they are excited to see what’s in store for the next track and field sessions coming this week.

Active Schools Orienteering

Our primary 5 & 7s have been luck enough to be taking part in a orienteering session with our great Active Schools Co-ordinator Ivonne today. We at St Albert’s work with Active Schools over various different activities and events over the year so its great to have them back with us today.

Our Class had to find hidden letters that were spaced all around our playgrounds to make the longest word they could thing of. The P5s & 7s came up with some awesome words in some record times after being able to find all 10 letters that Ivonne had hidden around the area.

We all very much enjoyed it and had a lot of fun with Ivonne today. We are very excited to see what she has in store over the next few weeks. Thanks Ivonne.
