Curriculum

Broad General Education

All S1 – S3 pupils undertake two periods of Physical Education every week. Pupils experience 8 of the 9 basic activities (with either Swimming or Hockey omitted) for a four week block.

Senior Phase

All S4 – S6 pupils undertake Physical Education once a week. There is no set course or activities for senior Physical Education which allows pupils a personalised learning programme where they have ownership of their learning, choosing which activities they participate in and undertake.

The S4 – S6 core Physical Education programme works on four-week blocks of activities. Pupils are given a choice of three different activities, which will change throughout the year. The emphasis is on play and enjoyment so the majority of time is spent in games and game-like situations.

The activities offered to pupils include:

  • Football
  • Badminton
  • Fitness
  • Gymnastics
  • Swimming
  • Basketball
  • Hockey
  • Athletics
  • Softball
  • Volleyball
  • Dance
