WELCOME TO THE Maths DEPARTMENT

Learning Mathematics equips our young people with the skill they need to interpret and analyse information, solve problems, develop logical reasoning and mental rigour. These are not only skills which are sought after by employers in today’s global economy but are essential life skills. We want to develop citizens of tomorrow who think creatively and critically no matter their chosen career. The workforce of tomorrow, in all fields will demand it.

Our department strive to ensure that this happens by:

• Delivering a rich and stimulating teaching curriculum that has these core skills at its heart.  
• Offering progression pathways that ensure all pupils advance at their rate but are still challenged. 
• Creating an ethos of hard work and resilience but above all an ethos where Maths is enjoyable and accessible for everyone.
