Thank you!

The first term is already over and it is hard to believe. I think the previous post about our Teddy Bear Party just about sums up the term – it has been really fun! Thank you to everyone who has come in each day with a smile, ready to learn! And goodbye to Jomanah who had her last day in Anderston today! Here are just a few pictures of the last couple of days in school to keep you going until the new term starts:

Emergency Vehicles coming through!

Today we were lucky enough to have the chance to see lots of emergency vehicles up close! Several children brought in their models to show to the class and all gave very impressive descriptions of what they had made and how we could do it ourselves.

Well done everyone!

Play

Lately our play has been producing some wonderful moments that we would like to share with you.

We have been building amazing models:

A zoo –

A bird –

Snowflakes made of snowflakes

A jet

A chair –

Another elaborate zoo

We’ve had ballerina’s performing for queens, princesses and queens serenading doctors and builders, as well as beautifully sculpted ice cream cones of sand, cards and letters produced at our writing table and wonderful pictures painted in a myriad of colours.

Everyone’s imaginations have been whirring at full speed all term – hopefully we can keep going until the end of the week!

Solving Problems

The class has been learning lots of new maths strategies this term. One technique is to draw a picture to solve a problem and we have been practicing hard to get this right.

We have even been working on fixing problems which have been done incorrectly and discovered there is sometimes more than one solution!

Brian has returned!

After hearing that Brian felt a bit out of place in the classroom we thought carefully about how we could make it better for him. We decided to create an area which would remind him of his forest home. Then we wrote a letter to him telling him what we had done. It worked and Brian came back to the classroom with a big smile on his face! We are now working on something special to commemorate the experience of ‘going on a bear rescue’. Check back for an update in a few days!
