Hillington Primary School

Primary 5 had a great morning when Donald (zoologist) and Fran from Wildside Nature came to visit. They talked to us about Halloween animals including bats, owls and spiders. We learned a lot about these animals and it was a brilliant outdoor and science lesson.

P5a took our learning outside to learn about the Big Bang Theory. We created our very own Solar System using a science experiment to prove the expansion of matter.

P5a have enjoyed learning all about the birds this term with our RSPB topic.  We have had fun outside as well as research indoors. We created bird feeders and went bird watching. We also learned all about Maurice the Messy Magpie who wasn’t looking after his environment. The class have become a group of ‘twitchers’.

P5a were using their outdoor learning time to create bird kebabs and apple sunflowers. This is to help the birds in our local area during the winter time.
