Transitions

Transitions can take different forms.

Staff in Croftcroighn work closely with our Area Inclusion Group recommendations to support our families.

Transition into Nursery

Pupils who are joining us in Croftcroighn for a nursery placement will be invited to visit the school.

If your child is already placed in a nursery, a member of staff will visit the child in their current placement to find out more about the child.

Transitions from Nursery to Primary 1

When Pupils in our Nursery reach Primary school age, we have to submit paperwork to our Area Inclusion Group requesting a placement for Primary 1. On most occasions this would be to place the child in Primary 1 in our school.

The Senior Management Team would ensure families are fully included in discussions, and that parent opinions and preferences are sought from families throughout this process, and paperwork being presented will be shared with families prior to being sent off.

Where a situation arises that there may be a more appropriate placement due to pupil’s learning needs, or location of pupil’s address, the child may be placed in a different establishment.  This would have been discussed as above with families prior to any paperwork being sent off.

Transitions from Primary 7 to Secondary school.

Pupils from Croftcroighn will most likely transition to one of our local Secondary ASL provisions.
