Remembrance Day in the United Kingdom honors the heroic efforts, achievements and sacrifices that were made in past wars. The main observance is on the second Sunday in November, but 2 minutes of silence is also made on November 11. Today in school at 11am we will be observing a 2 minute silence.
Primary 6 have been using brush strokes and mixing colours to create some winter wonderlands. As the weather is changing and winter is creeping in we thought these would brighten our class up.
Primary 6 had a great time at our Halloween Party. Lots of prizes were won and we enjoyed games and treats.
This week our spelling focus has been “ea” words. Our test results have been excellent and lots of us have earned dojos for super spelling. Our active spelling tasks and homework activities are paying off! In maths we have been revising our tables. They are very important as they help us solve so many problems in maths. Well done to Michael who was our “Hit The Button” champion. Please keep on practising
Primary 6 have been using the four operations to solve a maths challenge. Over the past few weeks we have been getting faster and faster at this. Well done to Poppy and James and wiped the board today!
This week we were learning to partition numbers up to millions. Here is an example: 50,722= 50,000+700+20+2 We learned a song in French to help us remember our phrases. On Friday 16th September we will be taking part in “Fundraising Friday”. All our children will be participating in our Fun Run which will take place in our playground.
