Our choir won the second annual ‘Sing Off” at Tron St. Mary’s Church yesterday morning. Judges included our local councillor, the former Moderator of the Church of Scotland, Greggs manageress and Slimming World’s Slimmer of the Year. Three local choirs participated and a wonderful time was had by all. Thank you to all family members who supported us by attending as well as our Star Pupils, Captains and Vice Captains.
We are all looking forward to our Christmas Fayre on Friday the 2nd of December. Preparations are well underway but we desperately require donations for our Tombola, Gift Stall, Raffle and Nearly New. We would be really grateful for any donations you can make. Remembrance Day in the United Kingdom honors the heroic efforts, achievements and sacrifices that were made in past wars. The main observance is on the second Sunday in November, but 2 minutes of silence is also made on November 11. Today in school at 11am we will be observing a 2 minute silence.
This week the boys and girls in Primary 2 and Primary 3/2 held a Shape Showcase, where they showed off their 3D Shape Robots. All classes attended the Showcase and gave they boys and girls fantastic feedback on their work. These robots were created as part of a homework task and we are sure you will agree that they look absolutely fantastic. Well done boys and girls!
This week we have been learning about all about pets. We have been learning about what a pet needs and how to look after pets. We also made our Class Charter. Our class charter is a list of promises we have made with our teacher to ensure our classroom is a fun and happy place of learning.
On Friday 16th September we will be taking part in “Fundraising Friday”. All our children will be participating in our Fun Run which will take place in our playground. Sponser sheets for this should be in schoolbags if you don’t already them. Please make sure children have a gym kit and water bottle. We are hoping to make lots of money for our school. We have been learning about 3D shapes. The boys and girls in Primary 2 and Primary 3/2 are to use their knowledge of 3D shapes to make their very own 3D shape robot using junk materials. 3D Shape Robots are due in on Thursday the 22nd of September. Here are some examples of some 3D shape robots.
