On Wednesday, we went on a trip to the Science Centre in Glasgow. We had lots of fun exploring all of the science activities and we even visited the planetarium to learn about the journey that Santa makes on his sleigh during Christmas eve to deliver presents around the world! The boys and girls in Primary 1a have been very busy preparing for our Christmas fayre this Friday. We each made three decorations and held a pre-sale for our own families and friends to buy before the day of the fayre. By Thurday this week, we had made over £35!!! The boys and girls in Primary 1a and 1b took home their Bookbug bags this week. We are all so excited to have our own copies of the three books that we read in class – ‘Gorilla Loves Vanilla’, ‘The Fourth Bonniest Baby in Dundee’ and ‘Little Owl’s Egg’. We can’t wait to share them with our families and friends!
The boys and girls in Primary 1a and Primary 1b are very busy preparing for their Christmas nativity which is called Whoops-A-Daisy Angel! We are super excited about our upcoming performances in December. So far, we have started to learn all of the songs and have also started our costume fittings. The Eco Heroes had their first official meeting this afternoon with Miss McCarte where they discussed lots of important items that will be undertaken this session to ensure Balornock continues to be an Eco friendly school. Primary 1a have been very busy practising their ‘Have a Go’ writing. On Monday, we wrote a sentence about our Halloween party. The sentence said ‘I am at the party’. We then illustrated our sentences. After that, we assessed our writing by giving ourselves a traffic light – green, orange or red! “I liked drawing the picture to match my sentence!” said Pheobe. “I liked writing my sentence!” said Alicia.
Primary 1a are Eco Heroes! We are doing all that we can to save energy in order to look after our planet, Earth. We designed posters to remind each class to switch off their computers when they are not in use. “Let them dream and go to sleep. Switch them off!” said Kaydence.
