This week, we started our new ‘Reading Buddies’ programme with some of the boys and girls from Primary 6. Each of our Buddies read us a story from one of our school story sacks. We really enjoyed listening to the wonderful stories that were chosen for us and we can’t wait for the next visit from our Reading Buddies!
This week, the boys and girls in Primary 1a have been taking part in lots of different activities as part of ‘Health Week’ in our school. Some of the ‘Health Week’ activities we have taken part in have included using the parachute, power-walking around Springburn park, a fire engine visit, making fruit kebabs, a visit from the dentist and lots more! This week we started our brand new topic all about Princesses and Castles – ‘There was a Princess Long Ago’. We discussed all the things that we knew at the start of our topic and also thought of questions to explore during our topic. We each created our own Princess and gave them their own unique name!
The boys and girls in Primary 1a have been very busy in class this week. We have been doing some paired reading, independent reading and writing our very own sentences! I bet you are very impressed with how clever we all are!!
Primary 1a have been learning about different types of weather in their Social Studies topic. We designed our very own kites and waited on a windy day before we could fly them. Our kites blew very fast in the wind!
The boys and girls in Primary 1A went on a Spring hunt. We took our learning outside to investigate the signs of Spring that we could see. We saw lots of different signs including daffodils, nests, buds and some green leaves!
As part of their home learning Primary 1a were given the task of designing an egg for our Easter ‘Egghibition’. Here are some of the eggs. We are sure you will agree that they are all absolutely fantastic. Well done everyone!
The boys and girls in Primary 1a had lots of fun during Literacy Week. We took part in lots of activities including dressing up as a character from a book, making our own picture books and bringing in our favourite books from home!
