Here is the lovely story that Amelia wrote and illustrated.
And in case you’re missing the lovely portrait on my desk, here it is…. đ
You could use your iPad, tablet or computer, or just a pencil and paper to have a go at writing/drawing your own short story about how youâre feeling during Coronavirus lockdown.
Today is the 100th birthday of Captain Tom who was the focus of one of our blog tasks last week. Look at how many cards he has received for his birthday from people all over the world! Subhan, our cards will be in there somewhere đ
Today is also the third and final part of ‘Kid Average to Kid Awesome’.
Have a think as you listen and try to answer these questions about the whole story –
What kind of mindset does Kid Awesome have?
What were the main differences between Kid Average and Kid Awesome?
Well you did a fabulous job on the sunny thoughts challenge today and sent me loads of lovely videos and pictures. I felt much happier hearing and seeing them all so I hope watching this video makes you feel happier too đ

Lovely as always to speak to some of you today. Looking forward to seeing the rest of you tomorrow đ
Here are the photos I took (including some of Kayden teaching me to use filters on Messenger calls!)-

Subhan read a book about superheroes which you may recognise!
Mariam dressed up as a ninja for superhero day – looking fab, Mariam!

Monday Assembly video
If you haven’t seen on the school Twitter page Mr Stewart has made an assembly video. This will be posted on Twitter every Monday so be sure to look out for it. It was not posted before I did your morning blog so I am sharing just now instead.
Every week a star of the week will be chosen from the work on the blogs, Mr Stewart chooses for the upper school and Mr Keddilty for the lower school. If you are chosen as the star of the week you will get a point on the chart too!
This week I was so proud that it was a pupil from Class 2 who was chosen for the upper school đ Watch the video to find out who it was…
A video message for Class 2

Photo from Isaac
Look at this fabulous Friday treat I received in an email this afternoon! A photo from our lovely Class 2 friend Isaac đ
He was being a little rascal telling me Abercorn is better than St Albert’s! But we know the truth đ
Photo from Mrs Bennett
As well as sending you a lovely video for the things we’re looking forward to Mrs Bennett also sent us this very interesting picture she took on her daily walk outside. She spotted some new goal posts at Linn Park! Looking forward to being able to use them when we go back đ

Happy Friday to you all! Have a great weekend, try to get out and enjoy the sunshine and Iâll see you on Monday! âď¸
A special message which I actually filmed yesterday rather than live this morning –
Looking forward to getting your videos today and you can watch them all later as a lovely happy end to our first week back đ
Try to do some Sumdog and Bug Club today to try and win those points! Let me know if youâre having trouble accessing either.
In case you havenât seen this on the school Twitter or Facebook page here is a fun exercise video that lots of the St Albertâs staff made to give you a laugh!
I was in school today as you all know, printing out and sorting your new packs of work. It was like a problem solving puzzle sorting everything out but I got there eventually!
All your home learning packs are now complete and these will keep you buy for the next couple of weeks, along with the fun activities you all requested individually – colouring pages, word-searches, calendars, crosswords etc.
Those of you who had already earned 10 points I phoned and you chose your prizes from the box! Well done again đ
Some of you already have your new packs as I dropped a few off on the way home. So did Mr Stewart and he is going to drop of the rest tomorrow.
It was very very hard to see you Aiyub, Subhan and Kayden without being able to give you a BIG hug! But SO lovely to see you in real life âĽ
Your work
Subhan made a great Leaning Tower of Pillows (which he then collapsed on!), did some work on spelling, worked out some subtraction problems and practiced handwriting for the letter l and L.
Kit doing his maths on Sumdog, looking extremely happy doing his reading, some great teamwork with Freddie to create his Leaning Tower of Pillows and he then needed to nap on them after being so busy! He also researched 2 facts about the Leaning Tower of Pisa – It started to lean when it was being built in the 12th century and they seem to be unsure who the real architect really is.
Hector was learning outside this morning studying and drawing some trees and flowers and having a run at the bowling green, he then worked together with his siblings to create their great Leaning Tower of Pillows and then recorded some super interesting facts he learned about the Leaning Tower of Pisa in a book called ‘Mistakes that worked’
Mariam was busy reading her new book on the Bug Club website
Aiyub built this very cool car which he won from the prize box!
Points
Remember to be sending me photos of your learning and what you are up to at home each day. The more photos I get the more likely you are to be able to win points and be able to choose a prize!
A reminder that tomorrow (Friday) up until 3pm is your last chance to win the Sumdog points this week and I will also be giving out a point for Bug Club so try to finish your book online and maybe do some of the quizzes and games there are there.
