Lovely to speak to the rest of you today ❤  Here are the photos I took (Aiyub you forgot to remind me!!!) –

Your work

Hector had a lovely Lego day – look at all the fabulous pieces he has 🙂

Aiyub was working on some multiplication timed tests from Miss O’Donnell and doing some emoji code cracking, remembering to show all his working on a separate sheet – well done!

Kit did some phonics work today revising the ‘th’ sound, was concentrating hard on his Sumdog maths work and went for some exercise walking in the very quiet park 🙂

Kayden (and his brother Mackenzie) did one of his colouring in sheets from his new work pack he got last week

Subhan has been working hard again doing maths work on Sumdog, writing this excellent Coronavirus diary entry and completing his entire ‘th’ phonics workbook 🙂

Points

I have been giving out points for lots of super work over the week again.

Remember Mr Stewart is also on the lookout 👀 for excellent pieces of work on the blog in the upper school to award the Gold Star ⭐ at Monday’s assembly.

Sumdog points for the week are being awarded tomorrow – lots of you have done lots of Sumdog questions this week which is great!

Remember you also get a Bug Club point if you have completed your book online  and done the quizzes. Kit and Hector are the only ones who have earned this point so far, well done both of you!

You will also get a point if you have completed your reading comprehension booklet that was in your new pack.

Here is the chart so far this week –

Home School Day 19

Good Morning Class 2 💛

Here is the lovely story that Amelia wrote and illustrated.

And in case you’re missing the lovely portrait on my desk, here it is…. 🙂

You could use your iPad, tablet or computer, or just a pencil and paper to have a go at writing/drawing your own short story about how you’re feeling during Coronavirus lockdown.

Today is the 100th birthday of Captain Tom who was the focus of one of our blog tasks last week. Look at how many cards he has received for his birthday from people all over the world! Subhan, our cards will be in there somewhere 🙂

Today is also the third and final part of ‘Kid Average to Kid Awesome’.

Have a think as you listen and try to answer these questions about the whole story –

  • What kind of mindset does Kid Awesome have?
  • What were the main differences between Kid Average and Kid Awesome?
  • Who makes more mistakes?
  • Who works harder?
  • Who do you want to be most like?

Day 18 work

Very important message!

Sunny thoughts video ☀

Well you did a fabulous job on the sunny thoughts challenge today and sent me loads of lovely videos and pictures.  I felt much happier hearing and seeing them all so I hope watching this video makes you feel happier too 🙂

Lovely as always to speak to some of you today. Looking forward to seeing the rest of you tomorrow 🙂

Here are the photos I took (including some of Kayden teaching me to use filters on Messenger calls!)-

Your work

Hector sent this absolutely fabulous animation that he made with his sister about a superhero – well done again Hector, it’s really great! He also went for a lovely walk in Queens Park today taking lots of photos of nice things he saw and then had some time with his mum in a very cosy looking hammock telling her all about what he got up to 🙂

Huzaifa was working hard on his money challenge questions and remembered to show all his working – I’m sure Miss McCue will be very pleased 🙂 He has also been answering loads of questions on Sumdog!

Mariam has been doing some Sumdog maths today too, good job!

Kit finished reading his story about telling lies and answered the comprehension questions, did some maths questions on Sumdog and went for a walk in Maxwell park 🙂

Subhan was practicing handwriting the letter n and N, did some of his phonics spelling work, answered maths questions on Sumdog and coloured in a lovely cat colouring page from his new learning pack 🙂

Home School Day 18

Good morning Class 2 💛

Here is your morning video –

So we are focusing on sunny thoughts today, a positive thought that makes you feel happy. ☀️ It would be great if you sent me a little video or picture of your sunny thought so I can put them together for everyone to see this afternoon.

Here are some ideas and as I suggested in the video, because some of you are missing school, you could think about a happy memory from Class 2 this year –

As promised here is Part 2 of the ‘Kid Average to Kid Awesome’ story for today. Have a think while you’re listening and see if you can answer these questions –

  • Are you like Kid Average?
  • Do you sometimes give up when things are hard?
  • What kind of mindset does Kid Average have?
  • Why?
  • What do you think happens next in the story?

Day 17 work

Superheroes!

Well done to everyone who joined in with the superhero theme today!

Aiyub did a mindful colouring sheet he had of a superhero. He added a mask as protection from Coronavirus and then used mark up on his iPad to add Coronavirus in the air around him!

Kit watched a Dr Who episode and discussed if the Doctor is a hero and there was another superhero in the episode

Subhan read a book about superheroes which you may recognise!

Mariam dressed up as a ninja for superhero day – looking fab, Mariam!

Monday Assembly video

If you haven’t seen on the school Twitter page Mr Stewart has made an assembly video. This will be posted on Twitter every Monday so be sure to look out for it. It was not posted before I did your morning blog so I am sharing just now instead.

Every week a star of the week will be chosen from the work on the blogs, Mr Stewart chooses for the upper school and Mr Keddilty for the lower school. If you are chosen as the star  of the week you will get a point on the chart too!

This week I was so proud that it was a pupil from Class 2 who was chosen for the upper school 🙂 Watch the video to find out who it was…

Things Class 2 are looking forward to video

Thank you to everyone who managed to send me a video today, I absolutely loved them and gave you all a point for your videos! Here is what we are all looking forward to in Class 2 when we go back to school 🙂

Photo from Isaac

Look at this fabulous Friday treat I received in an email this afternoon! A photo from our lovely Class 2 friend Isaac 😀

He was being a little rascal telling me Abercorn is better than St Albert’s! But we know the truth 🙂

Photo from Mrs Bennett

As well as sending you a lovely video for the things we’re looking forward to Mrs Bennett also sent us this very interesting picture she took on her daily walk outside. She spotted some new goal posts at Linn Park! Looking forward to being able to use them when we go back 🙂

Your work

Huzaifa has been busy working on his handwriting of e/E and f/F and doing some work on adding decimals

Hector was happy to see Mr Stewart today dropping off his new learning pack that I made yesterday, he did some drawing in the park and had a taste test at lunch trying out these new crisp flavours!

Aiyub sent some photos of the Kumon homework he has been doing this week. Today is his first day fasting and he is finding it a bit hard but is keeping busy to help distract himself, maybe you can call him for a chat to help!

Subhan was reading his Bug Club book online (when we finally solved his login problems!) while enjoying the sunshine on his trampoline, did some more work on tricky spelling, counted coins and went for a lovely walk in the sunshine

Kit completed his Bug Club reading book and got 100% in the quizes and he also did some more maths on Sumdog

Well done to everyone who earned points this week!

Both Sumdog points, for most time on Sumdog and most correct answers, this week were won by Kit – well done Kit 🙂

Well done to Kit and Hector who completed all of their new Bug Club books and did the quizzes, you both got a point 🙂 (I had already given out points to all of you for logging onto Bug Club successfully this week)

Happy Friday to you all! Have a great weekend, try to get out and enjoy the sunshine and I’ll see you on Monday! ☀️

Home School Day 15

Happy Friday! ♥

A special message which I actually filmed yesterday rather than live this morning  –

Looking forward to getting your videos today and you can watch them all later as a lovely happy end to our first week back 🙂

Try to do some Sumdog and Bug Club today to try and win those points! Let me know if you’re having trouble accessing either.

In case you haven’t seen this on the school Twitter or Facebook page here is a fun exercise video that lots of the St Albert’s staff made to give you a laugh!
