Hey Class 1!

Hey class 1! Hope you’re all well and have been enjoying the sunny weather! I have been in school getting the building ready for you returning in August! I wanted to share some of the work with you!

If you have any ideas for art on the walls please leave a comment and we will try and put your ideas up!

Hey everyone!

Hey Class 1 – How are you all?

This week I have been in school loads tidying up and getting it ready for you coming back. All the teachers can’t wait to see you.

We have been tidying, gardening and this week we hope to start some painting!

Mrs Pattie is getting an artist to spray paint a really cool mural in the upper playground and she wants your ideas!  What would you like to see on the wall?  Think about our school and what it stands for; love, respect, equality and learning.  Text your ideas to 0789 449 2119.  Watch the video below of cool school murals to get you thinking!

It’s June! Can you believe it?!

Hey Class 1! I  can’t believe it is June already! Usually at this time of year we would be planning lots of fun ‘end of year’ things. Unfortunately this year is a bit different but I’m sure we will make up for it when we can be together again!

The teachers are back in school now! We are getting everything ready for you returning in August. We are clearing space and trying to make the place look nice for you! Because we are super busy in school now there might not be a blog post every day anymore but I will put lots of links on this blog that you can use whenever you feel like and I will still try to post a few times a week!

It’s Friday – and a special delivery!!

Good morning Class 1 and happy Friday! The weather is meant to be lovely again today and we are now able to visit another family outside! I am so so happy to hear this news!! Later on, I’m going to visit my mum and I can’t wait. This news also means we are hopefully one step closer to being together again. I can’t wait to see all your beautiful faces I am really missing school!!

Today’s focus is happiness. I feel so happy at the thought of life slowly returning to normal. Let’s spend today thinking of the things we are looking forward to and also the positive things that might have happened whilst we have had to stay inside.

Speaking of things that make us happy…

I am so so so thrilled to let you guys know that Mrs. Creevy and her husband Steven have had their baby! I know you will all be so excited for them and I know she is missing you all loads! Maybe you could make some cards for Mrs Creevy and I can make sure she gets them!

Meet Chloe Hunter Creevy – the newest and tiniest member of Class 1!

How gorgeous is she!!  Having a brand new baby is one of the happiest (and most exhausting) times ever. I know this good news will make you all really happy today! We can’t wait until it is safe to meet baby Chloe!

Thursday 28th May

Good Morning Class 1!

I hope you’re all well and enjoying learning at home! I know these times have been quite hard but hopefully there is a light at the end of the tunnel! I was in school the other day clearing some space and I found some of my favourite teaching books (not all of my good ideas are always my own!) I have attached some photos in today’s blog so that you can do some of these fun activities at home!

  1. Choose a toy and draw around it on a piece of paper
  2. Cut out the drawing
  3. Choose an object in your house that you have lots of – it must be the same size object like 1p coins or 2p coins or connecting cubes or blocks or buttons or grapes.
  4. Predict how many of your object you will need to measure the toy’s body – Write down your prediction.
  5. Measure each part of the toy and write down the results. Were your predictions right? How many away from the right answer were you?
  6. Use this new information to predict how many of your object you will need to measure the toy’s legs, arms, head etc.
Questions for parents to ask:
  • Discuss how they could measure round their toy using a piece of string.
  • Order the height of toys around the house.
  • Discuss – What other things could they have measured with?
  • What difference would it have made?

My weather app says it will be 21 degrees so I might need to get my paddling pool out! I am also planning on going a nice big walk in nature. Sometimes when I’m feeling rubbish I like to spend time outdoors and that always makes me feel a bit better!
