Marie Curie – Posters

Our topic this term has been about an inspirational person who has helped make a change. We have been learning about the famous Marie Curie and  all her inspirational work in science.

We discovered that she helped during World War One and how her invention of the x-ray machine helped save many soldiers lives during the war.

She has been an inspiration to us all and her work has made a huge difference around the world, for many years. Here are some pictures of our posters that we created.

Science

We have been learning a lot about magnetic forces in science. For ICT this week we were able to carry out research about the ‘Maglev Train’ . Through research on Maglev trains we discovered what they were, why we used them and how they work. We have also been learning a lot about directions, magnets and about Marie Curie (a famous scientist) and wanted to do some cool science activities to link it all together.

With our knowledge on magnets we were able to recreate our own version of a Maglev Train. The aim was to make the train move without touching it. Here is a trailer of what we achieved.
