We are delighted to say Tulliallan PS is now a Silver: Rights Aware school, as part of UNICEF’s Rights Respecting Schools accreditation scheme.  This means that there is evidence we are:

• Explicitly embedding the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child in our policy, practice and culture.
• Promoting knowledge and understanding of the Convention throughout our school community.
• Children and young people are beginning to see themselves as rights respecting global citizens and advocates for fairness and children’s rights, both locally and globally.

This is a great achievement that we are really proud of.  Our Rights Committee will now start working on an action plan to take us towards our Gold award.

 

Rights Respecting School

We are on our UNICEF Rights Respecting School journey and are delighted to have attained the RRS Bronze Award – Rights Committed.

In our school we learn about children’s rights, and also make sure these rights are practised, respected, protected and promoted.  Adults and children in our community work together to make sure this happens every day.  Our values of SHINE (Success, Honesty, Inclusion, Nurture, Equity) are closing aligned with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) and our belief that every child should be treated with respect and supported to achieve.
