Health and wellbeing in school

The Fife Health and Wellbeing Model is a guiding framework. It gives schools a structured approach to build health initiatives for their pupils.

Each school gains recognition for, and feedback on their achievements.

The Model aims to:

  • Encourage a strategic, whole-school approach to promoting health.
  • Improve the physical, social and emotional well-being of children and adults in a school setting.
  • Support the personal and social development of young people with a particular emphasis on self-esteem, self-worth and confidence.
  • Promote healthy lifestyles within the school community.
  • Promote pupil achievement and involvement in school life.
  • Promote partnership working and community development.
  • Highlight the contribution schools can make to solve community health issues.
  • Celebrate success and share good practice between schools and partner agencies.
