Acceptable Use Policy (ICT)

At St Ninian’s RC Primary School, we recognise the important role digital technology plays in supporting teaching, learning and communication. We are committed to ensuring that all pupils use ICT safely, responsibly and respectfully.

We teach our pupils how to stay safe online and how to use technology in a positive way. This includes protecting personal information, communicating appropriately and knowing what to do if something makes them feel uncomfortable.

Our Pupil Acceptable Use of ICT Policy outlines clear expectations for the safe and responsible use of digital technology in school, including the use of devices to support learning.

As part of Fife’s Transforming Learning programme, pupils are supported to use digital devices to enhance their learning, develop digital skills and engage creatively with their education.

We encourage parents and carers to support their children in developing positive digital habits and to talk regularly about staying safe online.

This work supports the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, particularly Article 17, which highlights children’s right to access information safely and appropriately.
