Hello and welcome to Primary 4. Our class teacher this year is Miss Sword.

This term we have been looking at the following:

Literacy

We are currently looking at descriptive writing, focusing on using excellent adjectives to create a vivid picture for our reader. We have also looked at spelling of our common words and general spelling rules.

Numeracy

We have looked at estimation and place value. We have been working with numbers up into thousands. Whilst looking at place value we have been consolidating and building on our knowledge of addition and subtraction strategies.

Our numeracy topic this term is shape. We have refreshed our knowledge on 2D shape and started to investigate 3D shapes; focusing on edges, surfaces and corners.

Topic

Our topic is influential People where we will look at people that have influenced particular things around the world. We will take a focus on people that have come from Fife and our closer local area.

Health and Wellbeing

Our health and wellbeing focus this term is Growth Mindset, where we are looking at our strengths and ambitions. We have looked at how this can have a positive impact on our learning and progress.

We have gym on a Wednesday and Thursday, our current focus is basketball and netball.

We also do outdoor learning on a Friday where we are looking at directions and maps.
