Room 3 P2 Mrs Farquhar and Miss Higgins

Welcome to our class page. In room 3 the class teachers are Mrs Farquhar (Monday, Tuesday and alternative Fridays) and Miss Higgins (Wednesday, Thursday and alternative Fridays).

Our outdoor learning day is Tuesday. Please wear sensible shoes and dress appropriately for the weather, School uniform is fine with a warm coat and trainers.

Our gym days are Wednesday and Fridays,

We work with our buddies every Friday.

Numeracy – this term the children are working on:

  • numbers before and after
  • larger and smaller
  • number sequencing
  • number patterns
  • counting on in 2’s, 5’s and 10’s.
  • addition and subtraction within 20
  • data handling

In literacy this term we are working on:

  • Capital letters and full stops – sentence structure
  • Sentence building
  • Adjectives and interesting vocabulary.
  • Writing skills – description, sequencing, beginning, middle and ends, character profiles, predictions and alternative endings.

Out topic is Wonderful Me and will focus on:

  • Our senses
  • Our organs
  • Genetics, characteristics and inheritance
  • Hygiene, germs and illness.

In gym we are learning to participate in team games, listen carefully to instructions, travel movements,  being creative with our bodies and ball skills,

In art we will focus on shade, tone, primary colours and colour mixing,.

In drama we will be using our class novel, Georges Marvellous Medicine, to act out different parts of the story.

In music we will be enjoying some singing and learning about the beat and rhythm, We will use percussion instruments to help with this.

For RME we will be learning beliefs that Christians have about God and Jesus, by exploring different Bible stories.
